Two ways to develop new ideas

Method 1: Steal Like An Artist

Intentionally allowing ourselves to be influenced by stories and other forms of art. Don't have to be truly original.

10 things that have really influenced me:

1. Singer - Jaden - Very similar

2. Dance - Love it - Enjoy it - Forget about everything else when I'm dancing

3. The Sea - Love sea life - Quiet and peaceful - makes me feel safe even when I'am in danger

4. Spider Man - Loved Spider Man when I was younger because of the flips and tricks

5. New Zealand - I feel free when I am there

6. Surfing - I feel as if I'am re-living my fathers life

7. Amazon - Love wildlife - Like the danger

8. Interstella - I love space and the confusion & mysteries it causes

9. Space documentaries / UFO mysteries etc

Method 2: The Question Game

What if?

Make up 'What if?' questions?

What if some A-list celebs were part of a bigger organisation? (illuminati)

What if Buckingham Palace was blown up by a terrorist group?

What if Dolphins could live on land?

What if the Greek Gods really exist?

What if pre-historic creatures still existed?

Developing ideas: News + Netflix

Vaccine

Is it Safe?

Long term effects - who has it been trialed on? (people with health conditions)

The media position - everyone will be pushed to get the vaccine not knowing the risks of it.

Dystopian future risk?

Drug Companies - do we trust the drug companies?

Do we need to worry about Covid-19? - NO it's just the same as the flu or a cold - we just have to deal with it.

Ideas:

Environmental damage - can we save the planet?

What will life be like if we don't help the planet?

What will life be like if we do?

Distopia or Utopia?

Is the environment retaliating?

Ideas: Post Environmental collapse - poverty (another set of disasters) - crime

During the environmental collapse (disaster) - possibly quite difficult - survival

Preparation for the disasters - Crime - panic

Ideas:

Moving to a new island they never visited

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-55131049

Horror Strange/abnormal occurrences on the island

Opening sequence is them moving into the island after fast paced shots of couple researching the island and booking flights

Maybe family recording the flight themselves - home camera style Take boat to the remote island

Home camera drops out of man's hands and glitches, woman picks up camera, running, intense music, short glimpses of husband's body being dragged away by something not visible in the camera shots

Movie is about a woman stranded on island - horror genre, modern day

'The Man with the Golden Arm' opening credits analysis

'The Man with the Golden Arm' - Opening Credits

The opening credits of 'The Man with the Golden Arm" shows many straight white lines moving around the screen and coming in and out. The lines then turn into a distorted arm reflecting the damaging use of drugs/heroine on your body. The contrast between the straight lines and the distorted arm created by the lines shows the character going from a clean, ex drug abuser and then going back to his past habits. This is usual for Saul and Elaine to create a small story in the opening credits that explains the movie in some way.

'Anatomy of a Murder' opening credits analysis

'Anatomy of a Murder' - Opening Credits

The opening title sequence of 'Anatomy of a Murder' reflects the title and the themes of the movie through the use of the images on the screen and where the titles are placed on the images. Individual body parts begin to appear on the screen one by one, the title then appears with one or two words on a different body part. The use of the limbs all being separated and different words from the title appearing reflects the word 'anatomy' and highlights the murderous theme of the movie. The use of the black detached body immediately conveys the theme of murder. More credits are shown on or around zoomed in versions of the different body parts furthermore highlighting the anatomy and showing the murderous theme.
